Directed by Michael Seater (Murdoch Mysteries, Bomb Girls, Life with Derek), who also wrote the screenplay, and produced by Paula Brancati (Being Erica, Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Seater, Sadie’s Last Days On Earth stars Morgan Taylor Campbell (Spooksville, The Killing) as 16-year-old Sadie Mitchell, a young woman preparing for the end of the world. Armed with survival supplies, blueprints, escape routes and an all-important list of skills and accomplishments to master before doomsday, which includes winning back her former BFF Brennan (Clark Bako, Remedy), Sadie finds an unlikely ally in Jack (Ricardo Hoyos, Degrassi: The Next Generation), who shows her that her last days on Earth might not be so bad after all. Brancati also stars as Connie, the sardonic high school teacher who provides more life lessons to Sadie than she bargained for. Additional cast include Munro Chambers (Degrassi: The Next Generation) as Teddy, a classmate whose disaster preparations include throwing a “last bash before the big smash,” George Stroumboulopoulos (Hockey Night in Canada) as the local army surplus store owner and kindred spirit, and Peter Keleghan (18 to Life) and Hélène Joy (Murdoch Mysteries)as Sadie’s parents. Filmed on location in Toronto in October 2015.
“Stepping on the set of Sadie has been a dream come true. This incredible cast and crew is bringing this film to life and every shot in the can has been a little piece of magic,” said Michael Seater.
“This project is incredibly special to us and I am thrilled to be making it with such an amazing cast and crew. We can’t wait to share it,” said Paula Brancati.
