Carmilla receives Brand Content of the Year Award at MIPTV 2018
MIPTV recently announced that it had chosen digital series Carmilla as the recipient of its 2018 Brand Content of the Year Award.
Produced by Shaftesbury in association with U by Kotex®, a Kimberly-Clark company, Carmilla has transformed from web series to global phenomenon, with three seasons, a feature film, and a book deal under its belt, not to mention millions of fans.
The award will be presented to Shaftesbury CEO Christina Jennings and SVP of Branded Entertainment Kaaren Whitney-Vernon at the MIPTV conference, during a Keynote Showcase focused on Carmilla on April 11, 2018.
Carmilla has introduced a new approach to producing original scripted content for brands, and with its success, has become a brand of its own. The show has won numerous accolades, from the Webby Awards to the Candian Screen Awards; Stars Elise Bauman and Natasha Negovanlis have won the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s Fan’s Choice Award in back-to-back years.
